Why Your Playground Needs Turf

It’s that time of year again! The cold has come and gone, and the heat isn’t here quite yet. During this magical time of year in DFW we like to enjoy the outdoors. For many of us, that will include taking our children to their favorite parks and playgrounds. While this is often the highlight of the day, traditional playground set-ups can cause their fair share of problems. Here are a few reasons why your playground needs turf:

Why Your Playground Needs Turf

1. Turf is Easy to Maintain

Many of the playgrounds in DFW are still using wood chips at their playgrounds. Not only can wood chips be painful to fall on or walk on, but they are such a hassle to maintain. You have to constantly refill the wood chips, which takes time, money, and effort. Not only that, but when your playground is low on wood chips the playground can appear rundown, or poorly maintained. This is the last thing you want to project. With turf, you simply roll it out and let it stay all year-round. It will stay looking great, and you won’t have to do a thing to it.

2.  Turf Looks Better Too

As the seasons change, grass will die. This can leave a huge amount of area at your playground or park that is just patches of dead grass. That is not a good look. With turf, you never have to worry about the changing of the seasons, or anything else. It will maintain its beautiful green color for as long as you have it. A large part of parks and playgrounds is remaining as visually appealing as possible, and turf is a great way to do it!

3. No More Allergies

For those of us who suffer from grass allergies, an extended period of time outside can be torture. With turf, this is a total non-factor. As someone who does have certain grass allergies, I can tell you I am much more likely to take my children to a park that sports turf instead of grass.

When you look at it all together, it becomes apparent that turf is the way to go. If you want your playground to stay cleaner, better maintained, and cheaper, turf is the absolute best way to do it. If you have any questions feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help!
